Refer to teenage family project
M3 Teenage Family Project supports up to 8 units of families, aged 16-21yrs, and their children throughout East Lancashire area.
The units will be leased out as fully furnished and equipped placements, according to the needs of the family. The placements are Health & Safety checked.
Individuals will engage on the resettlement project for approx twelve to eighteen months. During that time regular home visits will be conducted to monitor progress being made, and to advise and guide accordingly.
The Senior Project Worker will engage and attend arranged appointments such as TAC meetings in order to advocate for and support individuals .
M3 Teenage Family Project also works closely with PCT professionals and Sure Start Centres. This is to ensure that young people are engaging with child development services, and that their welfare is being monitored by relevant services.
For further information on this project, please contact Joanne Mitchell Aspin on 01706 220046.
Training is offered to all young people on the Teenage Family Project around the following issues:
This training is not optional, as the Teenage Family Project has an agreement with landlords committed to the B-with-us choice based lettings scheme. Young people taking part in this training will be supplied with a reference which will assist them with locating permanent accommodation for their own families. We have negotiated that young people taking part in this scheme will be guaranteed the offer of a property after the first or second bid.
AFTER splitting up with her baby’s father, life got complicated for Megan and she ended up looking for somewhere else to live.
“If M3 had not been there I would have ended up going back to live with my mum, but at that stage we were not getting on very well and it would have been difficult for both myself and my son.
I didn’t expect to be able to get the help I have got; M3 has been really helpful.”
